5 Flat Roof Types That Need Roof Coating Systems

A full roof replacement is a home or business owner’s worst nightmare. This costly endeavor involves time, construction, and is a noisy inconvenience. Instead of waiting for your roof to begin leaking or caving in, take action now to prevent future damage. There is an alternative to a full roof repair that doesn’t involve the cost or inconvenience, but will still solve your roofing dilemma. At Zenith Painting and Coatings, we offer UNIFLEX Fluid Applied Roofing Systems that are backed by warranties from Sherwin-Williams. This industry leading fluid applied roof coating will not only save you big bucks but it also protects the roof against hail damage, and combats moisture.

UNIFLEX Fluid Applied Roofing Systems is also an eco-friendly and energy efficient option. Disposal of roofing products, which mainly consists of tar and rubber, fills up 15% of landfills and poses as a global environmental issue. Many times the damage on roofs are far from a point of no return, but are torn off anyway producing vast amounts of unnecessary waste. UNIFLEX also reflects the vast majority of UV rays away from your roof and therefore reducing your utility consumptions and costs during the hot summer months.

Roof Coating Steps

UNIFLEX has a variety of coating systems that will be fit to meet the needs of our clients.  Although each of the processes may vary, the fundamental roof application process is consistent throughout.

  1. Your first step is to call Zenith for a free roof inspection and estimate. One of our professional team members will arrive at your building to assess the roof and damage that has already occurred. If we believe the damage is beyond our control, we will refer you to a trustworthy and locally certified roofing contractor. On the other hand, if we believe your roof is a candidate for UNIFLEX products, we will give you a free estimate for the cost of your project.
  2. Once we start the project, our first step is to power wash the entire area where the coating is to be applied. This will wash away dirt or debris and to ensure a clean and secure binding to your roof.
  3. Our next step is the base coat of UNIFLEX. This is what will bind directly to your roof and keep the coating secure and fitted.
  4. The last step is a top coat. This will go far in reflecting harsh UV rays and prevent hail damage. It will also leave your roof looking aesthetically pleasing with a smooth finish all around.

Yes, that’s it. 4 easy steps to a quick finish and weather proof roof!
